Bill J Brown, a resident of Eureka Springs, Arkansas was born May 29, 1944 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma a son of Harold Wilbur and Billie Rita (Sine) Brown. He departed this life Saturday, June 4, 2005 in his home at the age of 61.
In 1962 Bill graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City. He then attended Oklahoma City University and served as a detective with the Oklahoma City Police for 10 years spanning the years of 1969-1979. He found and operated Brown Energy Services in Oklahoma City from 1979 until 1999 when he moved to Northwest Arkansas as owner and operator of Charlie’s Riverfront Cabins and Canoe Rental on the White River near his home.He was a member of the First Christian Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and the F.O.P of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His greatest loves were family and friends, cooking, fishing and storytelling. He will be forever missed by all whose lives he touched and will be remembered for his sense of humor and graciousness, selflessness and spirit.
On February 10, 1962 he was united in marriage with Rose Mary (Coker) Brown who survives him after 43 years of marriage. He is also survived by two sons, Matthew J Brown of Austin, Texas and Bill J. Jr. and his wife Denise Brown of Charlton, Massachusetts; his daughter Shelly and her husband Matt McElvany of Edmond, Oklahoma; his mother, Billy S. Brown of Marathon, Florida; his brother Harold W. Brown Jr. of Marathon, Florida; two sisters, Barbara and her husband Frank Marquis of Holiday Island, Arkansas; Betty and her Husband Jim Pope of New Braunsfels, Texas; four granddaughters, Lauren and Logan McElvany of Edmond, Oklahoma and Alex and Andrew Hayes-Brown of Charlton.
